My Broken Mariko
Story is about Shiino, an employee for a boring company, who learns about the suicide of her best friend Mariko. i really like young adult or adult yuri (as opposed to high school stuff) since it deals with irl issues like job searching, the direction of your life, reality of maintaining relationships with friend groups/family etc
Utsubora
I don’t feel like writing much right now, but I read this 400+ page manga in one sitting. It was extremely engaging. The mystery is central to the plot, and it stays pretty confusing all the way through.
Lost Children [Volume 1] (Tomomi Sumiyama)
The story takes place in a country that’s a mishmash of many Asian countries, with inspiration ranging from China to India, going through Nepal, Bhutan, Vietnam, etc. India’s caste system in particular is a big influence on the story.
108 Complex
Really short and simple BL manga about a high schooler who admitted his crush on his best friend and ended up having his world turned upside down when that same friend, turned out to be homophobic and bullied him emotionally. Main character eventually left school, left home, and even changed names so he could run away and find/establish a new identity.
Aizo: Shimanami Tasogare wordplay
The manga isn’t perfect, but I’m only halfway through, and it shows a lot of promise. I sincerely apologize if that was difficult to understand, but I did my best to explain. Thanks for indulging my idiosyncratic love of comics and language!
