It was worthwhile to read it, I’ll at the very least say that. The first chapter makes it seem like a generic romantic manga in a crapsack world, but when it’s revealed that the MC’s girlfriend has been turned into an ultimate weapon for military use, the narrative takes an entirely different turn.

Karakuri Circus

So I just finished this the other night, and I felt like commenting because… it’s an interesting one. Ultimately, I’d say it’s probably the weakest of Fujita’s three long form series, but that’s also because it felt like it was kind of the most ambitious. Like, a lot of the flaws came from reaching in and trying all kinds of stuff.

Anthology based around “I Am Hero” featuring prominent author such as Junji Ito (Gyo, Uzumaki, cat diary), Yokoyari Mengo (Retort Pouch, Kimi wa midara boku no jou), Nogizaka Taro (team medical dragon, yuureito), Ishizuro Masakazu (Soredemo machi wa mawatteiru, Getenrou) and 4 others.

In truth I was a bit tired of this series, maybe I rushed it too much, and I should have made pauses and read other things in between stories. Almost 4000 pages of the same style (even if there are different stories, the overall author style is seen through) are too much.
